Since many years Spain is one of my favourite destination for traveling. I have been already in Mallorca, Ibiza, Gran Canaria and twice in Barcelona. None of these travels disappointed me. It’s hard to do not love this beautiful country with impressive history, architecture, beautiful nature and amazing food! This time my boyfriend and I decided to visit the capital. Although I wasn’t convinced that sightseeing in February is such a good idea (it’s still winter in Europe!), also this time Spain didn’t let me down.
Weather in Madrid was just perfect for a short winter break. Daily temperature was around 17-18 degrees and sun was shining every day. Just perfect circumstance for a city break, some sightseeing, eating tapas and drinking sangria :) That was our simple plan for these couple of days.
We stayed in the Acta Madfor, which I really like for its location. It was just walking distance to Templo De Debod, Plaza de Españaand Palacio Real de Madrid. If you planning to go to Madrid, you need to visit the place with the best tapas in the city - San Miguale Market and try amazing coffee at Misión Café.
Besides these places I definitely recommend to visit Plaza Mayor, railway station Atocha, which is the only one station that has a botanic garden inside (!!!) and my favourite place in the entire city - Retiro Park with an amazing Palacio De Cristal. I am totally obsessed with this building! Mainly made of glass, it looks like a princess palace from the fairy tale.
But not only impressive architecture in Retiro Park made this place very special to me... In the most unexpected moment of my life, my beloved proposed! I have never even imagined this. Especially that I am as romantic as a prehistoric caveman (LOL!) That could explain why instead of desired YES I said ‘sure’. Sorry for that Babe ;-) But I need to confess, even for such a badass as me, it was a very special moment. Obviously without tears, but yes, I definitely love me engagement ring with black diamonds! And of course, I love my fiancé. And I love Madrid for amazing memories. Wow, it’s going to be a lot of love this spring!
